Jeff is a local historian who has been running historical walks around Carlton for Princes Hill Community Centre since 2009. He is the author of several books on local and Australian history – including a history of the prison that used to be in North Carlton in the 19th century, and the story of a former railway station in Princes Hill. He is also President of the Carlton Community History Group that co-sponsor these walks with PHCC. The photo below shows Jeff at the launch of one of his books, the biography of a woman transported to Australia as a convict in the 1820s.
